Our Veteran Program Fundamentals:

  • Dedicated Outreach: We establish and will continue to create partnerships with veteran organizations, military transition assistance programs, and veteran job fairs to actively recruit veterans. This outreach effort would raise awareness of job opportunities within Managed Staffing and provide a direct line of communication for veterans seeking employment.
  • Tailored Job Listings: We create and promote job postings that specifically highlight positions suitable for veterans, leveraging their unique skills and experiences. These positions could range from entry-level to management roles, depending on our client’s needs.
  • Resume Assistance: We offer resume writing workshops or one-on-one consultations to help veterans translate their military experience into civilian-friendly language and highlight relevant skills for the positions they’re interested in.
  • Interview Preparation: We provide interview coaching and mock interviews to help veterans feel confident and prepared when meeting with potential employers. We give guidance and coach on how to effectively communicate their military experience and skills in a way that resonates with civilian hiring managers.
  • Skill Enhancement Programs: We offer training programs to help veterans acquire new skills or enhance existing ones that are in demand in the job market. This could include technical skills training, professional development courses, or industry-specific certifications.
  • Networking Opportunities: We are implementing a program to facilitate networking events or online communities where veterans can connect with each other and with professionals in their desired fields. Building a strong network can help veterans access hidden job opportunities and receive mentorship from more experienced professionals.
  • Veteran Support Services: Our Team provides ongoing support to veterans throughout the job search process and beyond. This could include access to counseling services, assistance navigating the transition to civilian life, and resources for personal and professional development.
  • Client Education: Educate clients about the value of hiring veterans and the unique skills and experiences they bring to the workplace. Encourage clients to actively participate in the veterans recruiting program and consider veterans for their staffing needs.

Benefits of hiring Veterans:

Here at Managed Staffing, we know that military service is valuable in the workplace, and we want to offer this value-added service to our clients as well as our community. Veterans have experience, skills and leadership abilities that strengthen our Nation’s workforce.

Most employers want reliable, hardworking, and dedicated employees. If that’s you, consider hiring a veteran. Veterans are an asset to any company, and they can help our clients achieve their business goals.

At Managed Staffing, we prioritize Veterans for their skills:

  • They have advanced technical skills, soft skills, diverse experiences, inclusive, flexible.
  • A Veteran adapts to change: they take initiative, accountable, learn quickly.
  • Veterans build and lead teams, accept and meet challenges, perform under pressure.

Our key selling points when presenting active service members and Veterans to our Clients revolve around the strong traits of a Veteran:

Business, people and celebrate for teamwork success

Managed Staffing’s Second Chance Program.

Managed Staffing’s second chance program is one of many outreach programs we offer to our Client’s, our candidates and the communities we serve.

Our Second Chance program was created with a passion and pledge to give opportunities to qualified candidates with a criminal background, deserving of a second chance, which creates successful outcomes for candidates, all employees, customers and communities.

We have seen firsthand how candidates with criminal backgrounds are deprived of employment opportunities and organizations are deprived of qualified talent, creating harmful consequences for millions of people.

As businesses continue to experience difficulties in finding talent and recruiting candidates, we see a solution that is not only the right thing to do, but it is good for business and good for the community. In fact, job applicants with criminal records are proving to be an applicable talent solution for many organizations.

Second Chance Employment as a Solution to the Labor Market Gap.

  • More than 80 million Americans, roughly a quarter of the U.S. population, have a criminal record.
  • Researchers found that a significant part of the available talent pool, especially among working-age men, has a criminal history, and employers who disqualify candidates with criminal records are substantially narrowing their candidate pipeline.
  • Research shows that nearly nine in 10 employers require applicants to undergo a background check, and a criminal record can reduce the chances of a second interview by 50 percent.
  • Second chance employment practices have proven to be a beneficial talent strategy for employers across various industries.
  • Second chance hires are highly loyal and productive employees.
  • Second chance hiring boosts the economy, reduces recidivism, and lowers the unemployment rate.
  • Second chance employment practices allow companies and Managers to engage highly valuable candidates. As the business landscape evolves, second chance employees offer a means for companies to tackle labor shortages and enhance overall performance.

Why Companies Hire Individuals with Criminal Records

Our Goal of the Second Chance Program:

  • Educating and helping our clients to start looking beyond the labels and see candidates as individuals and talented workers.
  • Encouraging and educating our clients on breaking down the barriers of candidates past mistakes, circumstances and convictions to evaluate their qualifications, value and potential.
  • Teaming up with outreach programs, Criminal Justice Systems as well as Education Institutions to find and help support our candidates and employees with criminal records.
  • Coach, mentor and help our second chance candidates to focus on their skills, experience and value they can bring to a potential employer during the qualification and interview process.
  • Be a true advocate to our second chance employees by going above and beyond to present and advocate for our candidates’ talents, experiences, abilities and value.
  • Share our commitment to hiring the right person for the job.

Managed Staffing’s second chance program is part of our Social Outreach and Social Responsibility Programs we have to offer our employees, our clients, and our communities. When I started with Managed Staffing back in 2012, part of my responsibilities was to create value-added programs that would give us a stronger footprint in the communities we serve. Since 2012 we have created and expanded our corporate outreach programs as well as getting us certified as a Second Chance Employer, a Veterans Outreach Employer and soon a Certified Employing Abilities Employer through the SHRM Foundation.

Our Second Chance Employment program is not just a certificate we can brandish, but where we really make a difference is what we do hands on. We Team up with hundreds of local Workforce Solution Offices in 47 States as well as community outreach programs and nonprofit organizations to make it possible to connect with this diverse group of candidates. Since 2012, we have been working with County Probation Offices, Jails as well as rehabilitation centers to help mentor, coach, train and guide these individuals on job search skills, resume creation workshop, interviewing skills, communication skills and participating in job fairs classified for impacted candidates.
